Lawn fertilization programs:
Our lawn care program includes the following and will be adjusted to each individual lawns needs and owners expectations.
Application #1 – Fertilizer at this time is crucial for an early Spring green up. These are also the months when we can most effectively control crabgrass and foxtail.
Application #2 - Fertilizer along with a broadleaf weed control is applied at this time. Please remember we can only control the broadleaf weeds showing at the time of the application. Remember, insect activity starts now. Insecticides will be added as needed to control surface feeding insects.
Application #3 – Fertilizer with a broadleaf weed control again is applied in the early summer; this will continue to control those unsightly weeds that germinate at a later time. Watch out for chinchbugs and sod webworms now. Fertilizer is applied to sustain your lawn through the stress of the summer heat.
Application #4 – Fertilizers are applied to prepare your lawn for early fall. Herbicides are applied as needed for increased control of weeds and surface damaging insect control may also be needed at this time.
Application #5 – Fertilizers are applied to enhance proper root development and to promote thickening of your lawn. Weather permitting, broadleaf weed control can be applied if the temperature is above 45 degrees and weather is permitting.
Application#6 – Fertilizer will be used to help prevent winter stress and encourage an earlier green up next spring.
Grub control: Not every lawn requires this application, if needed it usually is applied at the time Application #3 is put down.
